What is the Million Deeds Challenge?
You are invited to celebrate the spirit of Olympism through deeds of Excellence, Friendship and Respect, and be part of the Youth Olympic movement in the process.
By sharing every deed that you do, you will be part of a virtual Torch Relay that stretches from Greece to Singapore
Who can take part in the Million Deeds Challenge?
This is open to everyone who has carried out a deed that expresses the Olympic values of Excellence, Friendship and/or Respect
What is a deed of Excellence, Friendship and Respect?
Deeds of Excellence, Friendship or Respect need not be about completing something great or difficult.
It is also about doing everyday things with a great spirit and knowing that every act, big or small, makes a difference to those around us.
For example:
Friendship: Giving a smile and saying “thank you” to the canteen operator who served you a drink.
Excellence: Staying back after school to rehearse for a school play
Respect: Giving up your seat in the bus to someone who needs it more.
But if you have saved someone from being eaten by a lion, or single-handedly found the solution to global warming, please share it too!

On the [homepage:link], you will see your deed reflected alongside those posted by other users. You will also see how your deed has helped move the virtual Youth Olympic Flame closer to Singapore.
Can I choose more than one Olympic value for the deed I want to share?
Please choose the Olympic value that most represents your deed.
What if my deed represents more than one Olympic value?
Please choose the Olympic value that most represents your deed.
How do I check if my deed has been posted successfully?
View the deeds that you have posted on the 'My Profile' page
What is the maximum number of deeds that I can post?
There is no limit. As long as you have completed a deed of Excellence, Friendship and/or Respect, do share it with the world on the Million Deeds Challenge.
Can I post the same deed repeatedly?
Spamming is not allowed. What would be helpful to us so we don't classify you as a spammer who keeps posting "I helped my friend” ten times in a row, is if you add some details to your deeds.
For example,
“I helped my friend in his Maths revision and he scored 90% in the test!”
“I helped my friend clean up his room because it was so messy”
“I helped my friend catch up with his school work after he recovered from chicken pox”
... You get the idea.
But if you spot someone whom you think is just trying to clock up deeds, flag him and we can do something about it.
Why can't I post deeds anymore?
Oops! Have you been posting the same deed over and over again? Have you said something in your deed that may have offended other people? Were you advertising a product or service? If you have done any of the above, your account may have been suspended. Check the email account you have registered with, to be sure. If it's your first time, we'll restore your account within 24 hours, or not at all if you have done this repeatedly.
Why can’t I submit another deed immediately? Why do I have to wait before submitting my next deed?
The Million Deeds Challenge is not a competition.
Rather, it is about encouraging people to make a difference. It is about how we can improve the lives of others as we go about our daily lives, and then taking action.
The Challenge is designed to resemble a torch relay. In a torch relay, you have to hand the torch over to someone to continue the relay. So get your friends, family, and everyone you know to be part of the Youth Olympic movement too!
This is a new feature that allows users to give stars to each other for deeds that they feel best demonstrate the Olympic values of Excellence, Friendship and Respect.
Each user starts the day with five stars that he/she can give to other users based on their deeds. Each user can award only one star for each deed.
Why can't I award any more stars for other users' deeds?
Each user gets only five stars each day that he/she can give to other users based on their deeds. Once you have awarded the five stars within a day, you will have to wait till the next day before you get another five stars.
If I don't use up my stars for the day, can they be accumulated so that I have more stars tomorrow?
Nope. You start every day with five stars, which cannot be brought forward to the next day.
How do I get stars for my deeds?
The more representative your deeds are of the Olympic values of Excellence, Friendship and Respect, the more likely they are to be rewarded with stars from other users. So start posting your deeds today!
There are two different types of badges.
Star badges are awarded to users who have been given five stars or more by other users. The more stars you have been given, the higher your badge value.
Referral badges are awarded to users who have successfully invited at least five friends to take part in the Million Deeds Challenge. Your friend is counted as one successful referral when he or she has registered as a user on the Million Deeds Challenge microsite. The more friends you successfully invite, the higher your badge value. Click on 'Invite Friends' to send invitations to your friends through email or your social networks.
Why do some users have certain titles/levels? How do I achieve them?
Users are awarded titles or levels when they have posted a certain number of deeds. The more deeds you post, the higher your title or level.
What does 'Territories Visited' column on my profile refer to?
This section of your profile lists the 'territories' where you have posted deed(s) and have carried the virtual torch on the Million Deeds Challenge microsite.
What is the Search function for?
The Search function allows you to search for users by either their names or by territories.
